We are the ones who create the 3DL program for which you have a user account.

The school you attend or the municipality you live in has purchased 3DL for you - therefore you now get an account in 3DL. The school/municipality's task is to provide you with good teaching aids so that you can learn in a good way. According to a law called the "Education Act", you have the right to good teaching aids.

We need some information about you so that you can log in and use 3DL. We store this information on large servers in the AZURE cloud platform in Europe. What we need to know about you is:

  • Username, password and information that helps us know that you are you.
  • Information about your school, your class/group and your teacher.
  • Information about all activities you do, when they were done, how long you spent and your answers to Quiz etc
  • Information if you send us a message within the 3DL program.
  • Information about those who have ordered 3DL and things related to this.

We at 3DL store this information for as long as the school/municipality wants us to store it. If they no longer wish to use 3DL or you leave the school - we will delete all information that can be linked to you after 18 months at the latest or earlier if the school/municipality wishes.
If you want the information about you to be deleted now, you must contact your school.

If you are told that your information is about to be deleted - you can contact us if you want it to be stored further.

We at 3DL are very strict about who gets to see the information about you - and do not give it out to anyone else. Only you and your teachers can see it. In addition, some of those who work with the servers in 3DL can see the information about you - this in the event that you or your teacher contact us. Those who supply the servers on which we store data will also be able to access the data.

Everyone at 3DL and everyone who provides servers and can see your information must sign an agreement that everything they see is secret and that they cannot tell anyone else about it. We have an overview of when people look at your information and that they have a good reason for doing so. We also regularly check that the servers are secure and that no unauthorized person can access the information about you.

Sincerely,

3D Learning AS

6. Access to the personal information

Who has access to the stored personal information?

All personal information is only available on a "need to know" basis. The following groups have access to the personal information:

Users

Pupils have access to their personal account and the personal data linked to it. Teachers of a group will be able to obtain personal information about themselves and about students in the group.

Employees in 3D Learning AS who work with databases, testing and support.

A group of the developers in 3D Learning AS work with the development, setup and optimization of the databases with personal information. These have access to the information in the databases, and are responsible for the backup routines. This is necessary to ensure quality and develop the product.

Another group in 3D Learning AS works with testing and support. They only have access to personal data when the user actively logs in and sends an error message from the program. The person will then be able to retrieve information about who sent the error message. If the error message was related to a calculation, you will also be able to retrieve the task itself, what was entered and the system's response. Or they gain access to personal data through physical meetings with the users.

Employees of subcontractors

Selected employees of the subcontractors may have limited access to 3D Learning AS's personal information. The EU's privacy regulation sets very strict requirements for this, and all employees at the subcontractors are bound by this ref. pt. 5.

The personal information is only stored at the request and agreement with a data controller - usually a school or school owner who is a user/customer and has ordered licenses for 3DL. Or if you are an individual user - at your request.

3D Learning AS anonymises and/or deletes all personal information so that it is no longer personal when the following occurs:

  • You have the right to access and correct the personal information we store about you.
  • If you are the data controller or have ordered 3DL as an individual user, you have the right to demand that all personal data about you be deleted.
  • As a data controller or individual user, you can withdraw your consent and permission for 3D Learning AS to process personal information on your behalf.
  • You have the right to complain to a supervisory authority – in Norway this is the Data Protection Authority.
  • You have the right to receive a copy of the personal data you have provided yourself through 3DL. This is because 3D Learning AS can create a structured file in csv format with all your work and feedback. This is manual work for 3D Learning AS and we will be able to charge for the time this actually takes - in the order of NOK 500 for individual users.

Whether other programs can actually import/read this file is up to the makers of these other programs to develop support for.
